God is Awesome!

What an awesome morning! I had the privilege of worshipping at Suncrest Christian Church today. Suncrest is our home church who ordained me and “sent” me into ministry. I stopped and picked up my Starbucks venti (with room for cream) and connected with tons of people. I had a great dialog with their Associate Minister (and my dear friend who I traveled to the Holy Land with in March '06) Doug Gamble. How cool is it to see so many people who love God! I was able to see many of our dear friends in the Lord who were in our Small Group. Not to mention several baptisms and a great message from lead pastor Greg Lee. I’m pretty sure he didn’t see my Starbucks in hand (hidden under the seat in front of me). I tried sneaking sips from it when he looked at the other part of the room. I think I pretended to tie my shoe 37 times during his message … The music was rockin’ today also. Between the Starbucks; the worship/praise; the preaching; the awesome friends …. I’m still jazzed up!!! The second stop by Starbucks after Suncrest was just a bonus treat. I stopped by Town & Country Christian Church on the way back to my parents house (with Starbucks in hand) to say hi to yet another great group of Christ-followers. My parents and sister and her family worship there. Lara & called T&CCC our home church for more than seven years. Some of the dear people there have known me since I was 6 years old and taught me Sunday School, influenced me for Christ, witnessed my Dad baptize me on 10/21/1983, witnessed Lara’s baptism in 1990, witnessed our wedding in 1991, and have modeled for me what it means to love God and love people. (There’s a handful of Suncresters who have shaped me through those years also…) Our God is awesome! A few moments ago, I found an old cassette tape at my folks house from my high school days. Michael W. Smith Live Set - from 1987. Good stuff. It actually still plays pretty good! I think I'll order the CD so I can actually play it back at the house in Maryland ... |

Come now, the announcements by me were the most engaging part of your morning.

I liked the part when you tried to hold the microphone with wet hands from baptizing half of Lake County!
