regifting made easy
| What do you get when you cross more than 30 grown men between the ages 20 - 87 on a Saturday morning in December with a pile of silly gifts on the floor in the middle of the room. A great time and a ton of laughter. That's the beauty of re-gifting ... Some of that had to do with the impromptu wrestling match that happened when some rabid Ravens fans got a hold of a certain someone who flagrantly wore a Patriots jersey . The best part was when they all rolled across the pile of gifts on the floor!!!! I knew better than to bring something with the Colts or Bears on it .... I love that about ACC. For eight months, these guys have gotten together every other Saturday morning to connect with God and with each other. We've shared our hurts & short-comings and celebrated how God can use imperfect people perfectly to make a difference for His glory. We've come together to serve each other. Whether it's providing (burning) breakfast for everyone on Saturday morning, considering and growing in God's word together, to painting homes, building basements into studio apartments, resealing roofs, moving families, praying together, challenging each other; encouraging each other and building each other up. Sometimes it's through something as simple as an email or a text message. The great thing is that these guys make it a priority. Connecting with God and other people is what we crave as people. Yet we find lot's of reasons to make these low on the priority list. When we raise the bar on the core importance of making God first in our life and relationships with people second, we start to see how God uses other people to influence us... in a good way. |

| Doing life with God and with each other is what life is all about. Even though none of us has it all figured out, at least we're on the journey together. These guys are awesome! And I can't think of a better way to spend every other Saturday morning than with my Band of Brothers ... It's regifting made easy... | |

I appreciate you Paul. Here's a little suprise pic of you gettin cleaned up a few days before Thanksgiving. It's been so humbling seeing God working in and through the men of Band of Brothers. I praise God for the transformation in your life I have had the privilege of witnessing. When are we gonna talk more about Church History?!!!! (Notice my congas in the background! Nice.)

Band of Brothers has been absolutley amazing. I will have to be honest as say, that even as a leader, I was leary about a being a part of a men's group. In my past years of growing up in a church as a young adult, then men's group always seemed more like a club than a came as you are gathering. I felt like I didn't fit the mold of the men's group whether it was age or social status. Band of Brothers has dismissed that mold and proven to be a place where it doesn't matter who you are.

Birthday Boy:
I completely agree with you! Who would of thunk it?! Male Bonding is not something every male gravitates to. Yet the "Come As You Are" atmosphere does make a difference. I'm convinced it's one of the keys that makes ACC so accessible to people. Real people with real issues. And the fact that there are so many generations and socio-economic places in life represented, it makes for such a more enriching experience. (We're starting to sound like a couple of pastors ...)
