transitions & new beginnings
| Sometimes we can’t wait for something to end. Things like haircuts that are too short; humongous facial blemishes; car rides to far-away places like Pizza Hut; the extra splash of cologne that gags everyone at the office; and out-of-control screaming infants anywhere that happens to be the same place as me. Sometimes we don’t want something to end. Things like a great book or movie; the jeans that have been broken in just right after 5.5 years that are now worn out; the $6 bottle of hand soap from Bed Bath and Beyond (the kind with the little abrasive particles in there that exfoliate every ounce of healthy skin on your hands and face); the “little kid” stage of my children who are growing up faster than I prefer; and that great night of sleep that is never as long as I'd like. |

Endings are actually transitions. We mostly look at an ending as being the end or an abrupt break in some activity or season of our life. But sometimes endings and beginnings aren’t as dramatic. | |
