leather seats and coffee

I just spent four hours with our lead pastor, Brian Hamilton.  Two of those hours were in a tiny dark Chinese restaurant with great prices and average food on the outskirts of Baltimore.  Two were in front of a gas fireplace with leather seats and jazz music at a local Panera Bread with free refills on some tasty coffee.  (I'm not usually a fan if coffee from an air pot canister...)

I'm not sure words adequately express the significance I experienced today of an investment of quality time for two leaders to sit and share together their visions, dreams and hopes for ministry at Arundel Christian Church.

It was refreshing.  Encouraging.  Challenging.  Inspiring.  God-honoring.

Jesus sent out His apostles into ministry in two's.  They did ministry as a team.  The idea of two leaders working side-by-side isn't revolutionary, yet at the same time it's not always embraced.  I am privileged to do team ministry here at ACC.

We serve an awesome and mighty God who has remarkable things in store for each of us.

Sometimes it just takes some time to slow down and listen to what He has to say ...

I'm convinced that team ministry is where it's at ...
