Today is a day where people will make a choice to intentionally begin forming new and healthier habits in their life.  Today is a day where people will nonsensically go about their day without a clue of their value to God and why their choices today, matter tomorrow.

Today is a day where people will spend a lot of time, working extremely hard, trying to accomplish a goal for themselves rather than the goals that God has for them.  It's like working smarter instead of harder at the wrong thing.  Great plan.  Wrong project.  Great teamwork.  Wrong goal.  Great resources and tools.  Wrong objective.

Today is a day where people will choose to wait another day to surrender their life completely to Christ.

For me, today is a day where it will take large portion of my day to war-game my 2008 approach to helping people find their way back to God.  I have to completely surrender.  Daily.

Jesus said,  "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."  (Matthew 11:28-30)

Are you weary and burdened in ANY way at all in your life?  Jesus said that He'll give you rest.  Only if you'll stop carrying the load by yourself and choose to learn from Him.

Procrastination is a constant challenge for me.  Today is a day where golfing sounds awesome. (Not that I could actually just leave work and go golfing, but I can still dream!!!)  Yet seeking God's direction for my ministry is something that must happen.

Today.

What do you want in your life today?  Jesus wants to give you rest.  He wants you to learn from Him.

Golfing still sounds pretty attractive.  But resting in Jesus and learning from Him sounds better ...
